Thomas & Hutton provided Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) activities for a proposed solar farm to be located in Colleton County, SC near the City of Walterboro. The subject property is located in a predominately rural area of the County. The Phase I ESA was completed in accordance with ASTM Standard Practice for Environment Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process (E1527-05). The purpose of the Phase I ESA was to conduct an inspection of this property and relevant public records in order to gain an indication as to whether or not hazardous wastes, toxic substances, or other pollutants have been stored or disposed on the subject property. There were no recognized environmental conditions identified for the subject property that may be anticipated to have a potential environmental impact on the subject property. Thomas & Hutton was also responsible for the site plan and layout, including access roads, two kinds of array with fixed and single axis, the spacing and layout for proper maintenance access, inverter pad sizing and location, and the fencing location based on proper separation to arrays and the parking lot.
