Sea Pines Plantation, located on the southern tip of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, is the island’s first developed community or "plantation". Sea Pines is well known for its famous red and white lighthouse and is home to Harbour Town.
Sea Pines offers approximately 5,000 acres of land, which most are mainly parks, forest preserves, marshlands, and lagoons, five miles of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, four championship golf courses – Club Course, Sea Marsh Course, Ocean Course, and Harbour Town Links (home to the world famous RBC Heritage on the PGA tour), two marinas offering over 150 boat slips, Lawton Stables Equestrian Center, 41 miles of natural trails and private forest for biking, walking, and running, and over 100 tennis courts.
Thomas & Hutton’s responsibilities included utilities, road design of 77 miles of roadways, water and wastewater system design including over 100 miles of water and sewer lines with associated lift stations and valving, and storm water drainage system design including golf course storm drainage rehabilitation of Sea Marsh, Ocean and Harbour Town Golf Courses. Recently, Thomas & Hutton has provided design, permitting, and construction phase services for other hospitality facility rehabilitation projects including the Plantation Club and Beach Club. On these projects Thomas & Hutton is assisting the resort in providing new facilities to meet the hospitality expectations of their clients.
