T&H also assisted Ryan Companies US, Inc., in final negotiations with the City of Lake City and Columbia County for site selection, and coordinated with City and County engineers on infrastructure design.
The food distribution center is the prototype for Target and will enable frozen, refrigerated and fresh produce items to reach customers in the Southeast. The 76-acre site is Target’s first company-owned perishable food distribution center. Target plans to open additional food distribution centers over the next several years in specific markets as part of its overall distribution network of wholesalers, direct-to-store, and regional distribution centers.
Thomas & Hutton performed master planning, site design, surveying, permitting assistance, landscape architecture and construction services for the 1.5 million sf Target Distribution Center in the TradePort East Business Center.
The 155-acre site includes 815 car parking spaces, 1,125 truck parking spaces, 18,291 feet of storm drainage and 58.6 acres of paving.
This is Target’s 26th distribution center nationwide and the third in Georgia.

The 165-acre site includes 580 car parking spaces, 972 trailer parking spaces, 18,455 linear feet of storm drainage and 53.6 acres of paving.
The building was the largest "tilt-slab" warehouse in North America at the time of construction and handles overseas cargo and merchandise for Target’s southeast stores.
