Thomas & Hutton has provided engineering and consulting services to both public and private clients throughout the southeastern United States since 1946. The successful history of the company is attributed to founders Hue Thomas and Joe Hutton, whose ideals still guide the firm today:

  1. Zweig Group names Thomas & Hutton one of the Top 24 Civil Engineering Firms to Work For; Greenville, SC branch opens

  2. The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce selects T&H as one of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina

  3. T&H opens Columbia, SC Office

  4. Thomas & Hutton Engineering Co. becomes Thomas & Hutton to reflect the diversity of technical services offered

  5. T&H introduces a wellness program to promote health and disease prevention

  6. Establish sustainability committee with LEED AP staff – some members serve on Earthcraft and USGBC boards

  7. Georgia Trend Magazine names T&H one of the top 15 places to work in Georgia

  8. Become a major alpha and beta tester for Autodesk® software

  9. TH University launches to provide training opportunities to employees

  10. Wilmington, NC and Brunswick, GA offices open

  11. The Blood Alliance recognizes T&H for giving the highest number of donations

  12. Designed the first nanofiltration plant in Georgia

  13. Conducted ACEC Organizational Peer Review

  14. Second office opens in Murrells Inlet, SC (which later becomes the Myrtle Beach, SC office)

  15. T&H implements a favorable work schedule, half-day Fridays, to provide flexibility for employees

  16. Charleston, SC branch opens

  17. Thomas & Hutton Engineering Co. is formed as a full-service engineering firm

  18. Thomas & Hutton Consulting Engineers is founded in Savannah, GA by two former US Army Corps of Engineers officers
