Thomas & Hutton (T&H) freut sich, bekannt geben zu k\u00f6nnen, dass unser Projekt Central Berkeley WWTP Flow Diversion von der American Public Works Association South Carolina Chapter (APWA SC)<\/strong> als Projekt des Jahres 2021<\/strong> ausgezeichnet worden ist. APWA SC zeichnet j\u00e4hrlich die besten \u00f6ffentlichen Bauprojekte im ganzen Bundesstaat aus, um herausragende Leistungen im Management und in der Verwaltung \u00f6ffentlicher Bauprojekte zu f\u00f6rdern und das B\u00fcndnis zwischen der Verwaltungsbeh\u00f6rde, dem Berater\/Architekten\/Ingenieur und dem Bauunternehmer zu w\u00fcrdigen, die gemeinsam \u00f6ffentliche Bauprojekte durchf\u00fchren. Berkeley County Water and Sanitation (BCWS) beauftragte T&H mit dem Entwurf und der Planung des Projekts Central Berkeley WWTP Flow Diversion.<\/p>\n

Ziel des Projekts war es, den Abwassertransport f\u00fcr die Nutzer in den Siedlungen Cane Bay und Pine Hill sowie in den kommenden Siedlungen im Wildcat Tract zu verbessern. Diese Gebiete stellen den gr\u00f6\u00dften und am schnellsten wachsenden Teil von Berkeley County dar, in dem mehr als 15.000 Wohnungen, Schulen und gemischte Einzelhandels- und Gewerbefl\u00e4chen gebaut werden sollen. Das CBWWTP-Projekt diente auch dazu, die potenzielle \u00dcberlastung der Kl\u00e4ranlage Lower Berkeley Wastewater Treatment Plant (LBWWTP) zu verringern, indem die Abfl\u00fcsse aus den oben genannten Gebieten zur Central Berkeley Wastewater Treatment Plant (CBWWTP) umgeleitet wurden. Das stufenweise Projekt umfasste die Umleitung der Abw\u00e4sser von der BCWS-Pumpstation Nr. 151 (PS 151) zur neu konzipierten BCWS-Pumpstation Nr. 161 (PS 161) und zur CBWWTP. T&H erstellte einen Abwasser-Masterplan, um die Umsetzung des stufenweisen Projekts zur Versorgung der oben genannten und umliegenden Gebiete f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten 30 Jahre anzuleiten.<\/p>\n

Das Projekt umfasste die Verlegung von fast sieben Meilen Druckleitungen (neun Meilen, wenn man jeden Abschnitt der beiden 18-Zoll-Druckleitungen separat z\u00e4hlt), den Bau einer gro\u00dfen regionalen Abwasserpumpstation und die Modernisierung einer bestehenden regionalen Pumpstation. Alle Verbesserungen wurden mit minimalen Auswirkungen auf die umliegende Gemeinde und die bestehenden Feuchtgebiete durchgef\u00fchrt. Dieses Projekt ist ein Beispiel f\u00fcr die innovative und strategische F\u00e4higkeit eines \u00f6ffentlichen Versorgungsunternehmens, die Nutzung seiner bestehenden Infrastruktur neu zu \u00fcberdenken. BCWS verf\u00fcgt nun \u00fcber die Aufbereitungskapazit\u00e4t f\u00fcr k\u00fcnftige Entwicklungen in der Umgebung der Kl\u00e4ranlage und kann die Produktivit\u00e4t der Kl\u00e4ranlage maximieren.<\/p>\n

Dazu geh\u00f6rte die Analyse und Auswahl von Pumpstationen und Trassenstandorten sowie die anschlie\u00dfende Planung der gesamten zugeh\u00f6rigen Infrastruktur. T&H m\u00f6chte den anderen Preistr\u00e4gern des Projekts des Jahres gratulieren und unseren Partnern bei BCWS danken.<\/p>\n
