Thomas & Hutton (T&H) wurde vom American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC Georgia) bei der Georgia Engineering Awards Gala in Atlanta am Samstag, den19.<\/sup> M\u00e4rz, f\u00fcr ihre Arbeit am Belfast Keller I-95 Interchange in Bryan County, Georgia, mit einem Engineering Excellence Award ausgezeichnet. Mit den Engineering Excellence Awards werden Ingenieurleistungen gew\u00fcrdigt, die ein H\u00f6chstma\u00df an Verdienst und Erfindungsreichtum aufweisen. Die Einreichungen werden nach ihrer Einzigartigkeit und Originalit\u00e4t, ihrem k\u00fcnftigen Wert f\u00fcr den Ingenieurberuf, ihren sozialen, wirtschaftlichen und nachhaltigen Entwicklungsaspekten, ihrer Komplexit\u00e4t und der erfolgreichen Erf\u00fcllung der Anforderungen des Kunden\/Eigent\u00fcmers bewertet.<\/p>\n

T&H erhielt einen ACEC Georgia Honor Award f\u00fcr den Bau eines neuen Autobahnkreuzes an der I-95 und der Belfast Keller Road Overpass (Exit 83) im S\u00fcden von Bryan County. Das Autobahnkreuz ist das erste seiner Art in der K\u00fcstenregion Georgiens und verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber einspurige Kreisverkehre an den Endpunkten der Rampen. Die Analyse von T&H kam zu dem Schluss, dass Kreisverkehre f\u00fcr die Autofahrer sicherer sind, die Lebensdauer des Autobahnkreuzes verl\u00e4ngern und die Umweltbelastung aufgrund des geringeren Platzbedarfs verringern. Sie er\u00f6ffnet eine neue Ost-West-Verbindung im County, verk\u00fcrzt die Pendlerzeiten, er\u00f6ffnet eine neue Evakuierungsroute f\u00fcr Hurrikane und bietet den Ersthelfern bessere Anschlussm\u00f6glichkeiten. Aufgrund der guten Erreichbarkeit des Hafens von Savanah hat der Bezirk das Gebiet um den Knotenpunkt als erstklassig f\u00fcr die F\u00f6rderung des Wirtschaftswachstums identifiziert, einschlie\u00dflich Pl\u00e4nen f\u00fcr Wohnbebauung, Fertigung und Lagerhaltung.<\/p>\n
