Thomas & Hutton (T&H) wurde vom American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC Georgia) mit einem Engineering Excellence Award f\u00fcr ihre Rolle bei der Jackson Street Plaza Redevelopment in Dublin, Georgia, ausgezeichnet. Die Gala zur Verleihung der Georgia Engineering Awards fand am Samstag, dem 19. M\u00e4rz, in Atlanta statt. Mit den Engineering Excellence Awards werden Ingenieurleistungen gew\u00fcrdigt, die ein H\u00f6chstma\u00df an Verdienst und Erfindungsreichtum aufweisen. Die Einreichungen werden nach ihrer Einzigartigkeit und Originalit\u00e4t, ihrem k\u00fcnftigen Wert f\u00fcr den Ingenieurberuf, ihren sozialen, wirtschaftlichen und nachhaltigen Entwicklungsaspekten, ihrer Komplexit\u00e4t und der erfolgreichen Erf\u00fcllung der Anforderungen des Kunden\/Eigent\u00fcmers bewertet.<\/p>\n

Das Projekt Jackson Street Plaza Redevelopment erhielt eine Auszeichnung der ACEC Georgia auf Staatsebene und qualifizierte sich f\u00fcr die ACEC National Engineering Excellence Awards Gala in Washington, DC am24.<\/sup> Mai, wo es einen National Award of Recognition erhalten soll. Das Projekt schafft einen neuen \u00f6ffentlichen Raum in der Dubliner Innenstadt, wo einst ein Schandfleck stand. Die Entfernung der bestehenden bauf\u00e4lligen Geb\u00e4ude machte Platz f\u00fcr Springbrunnen, gepflasterte Fl\u00e4chen, erh\u00f6hte Stege, Beleuchtung, Sitzgelegenheiten und eine einheimische Pflanzenpalette, die gleichzeitig als Regenwasserl\u00f6sung dient. Diese Verbesserungen f\u00fchrten dazu, dass die Stromleitungen unterirdisch verlegt und die Versorgungsleitungen komplett neu gestaltet wurden. Auch die angrenzende Gasse und der oberirdische Parkplatz wurden saniert. Lokaler Charakter und historische Elemente wurden in den Entwurf integriert, so dass er sich nahtlos in das Stra\u00dfenbild einf\u00fcgt. Es wurde eine Eingangsfassade errichtet, die an die Stra\u00dfenfront und den \u00f6rtlichen Charakter angepasst ist. Die Jackson Street Plaza hat die Wiederbelebung mit einem Verh\u00e4ltnis von 5 Dollar privater Investitionen zu 1 Dollar \u00f6ffentlicher Mittel vorangetrieben.<\/p>\n
