This 12-inch transmission replacement project is located in the Bluffton area of South Carolina, near the South Carolina/Georgia state line. The replacement was required due to an SCDOT project that widened the existing roadway from two lanes to four lanes. The system designed and permitted by our team replaced 3.1 miles of existing 10-inch steel gas main with a new 12-inch steel gas main to allow for future increases in capacity. The installation took place in a mix of forested wetlands, tidal marsh, and limited high ground areas.
