Improvements of Section include:

• Wide medians sized appropriately for accommodating large maturing canopy trees.

• Wide tree lawns that will provide safety to pedestrians through the planting of large maturing street trees between the travel way and the sidewalk.

• A large 12’ wide multipurpose sidewalk along the north side of the corridor that function as a linear park / trail.

• Pedestrian scaled street lights with festive banner options.

• Relocation of overhead utilities that are transmission lines in this section may not be financially feasible.  If such proves to be the case consider using the are beneath it to have more shrub, small tree and other accent plantings instead of the large trees that would conflict with the utility.

• Connection with the Downtown Gateway.

• Three roundabouts at Pace Street, Elm / Alcovy Streets and Mill Street.
