Columbia, SC, August 21, 2026 — Thomas & Hutton (T&H), a privately held and employee-owned professional services firm known for its award-winning culture and 80 years of shaping communities across the Southeast, is pleased to announce that Katie Johnson, PE, Designer in the firm’s Columbia office, has been selected for Leadership Columbia Class of 2027.
Leadership Columbia is a 10-month leadership development program offered through the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Each year, approximately 60 professionals are selected to participate based on community involvement, capacity for leadership, commitment to improving the Midlands, and an interest in enhancing their leadership skills. This program allows participants to gain valuable insight on critical issues and build a lasting network of civic-minded leaders.
Katie is a licensed Professional Engineer with over six years of experience in both geotechnical and civil engineering. Her portfolio includes commercial, industrial, and training center developments. Katie’s responsibilities also include supporting project managers by assisting with cost estimates, attending meetings, and providing construction administration and observation.
Beyond project work, Katie is involved in the engineering profession and local community. She is the Younger Member Chair for ASCE Midlands Branch and actively supports the development of the T&H internship program, mentoring the next generation of engineers.
