Georgia State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund

Georgia State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund

The state of Georgia received an initial $4.8 billion in the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. This emergency funding responds to the disparities in the built environment and economic shortcomings laid bare by the evolving COVID-19 pandemic and can help put a dent in the infrastructure needs of the state. The Recovery Fund will provide the opportunity for Georgia communities to be built back stronger and more resilient than ever. Georgia is still accepting applications via Georgia Grants for projects to be backed by the Recovery Fund. The original August 31st deadline has been extended until October 31st, giving municipalities and government agencies an additional two months to prepare applications. Not ready for this round? The second tranche of funding will be issued to Georgia by the federal government 12 months following the initial award.
