13 Nov Sam McCachern Inducted Into North Carolina State University’s CCEE Alumni Hall of Fame
The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) Alumni Hall of Fame was established to inspire NC State’s current students and alumni and to celebrate the accomplishments of those extraordinary graduates who have used their education to excel in a profession, career or service.
Sam began his career with Thomas & Hutton shortly after graduating NC State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1985. In 2013, Sam was elected President and in 2015, as CEO. As a dedicated business and community leader, Sam serves organizations including Isle of Hope Methodist Church (Church Council Chair), Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce (Chair 2017), Rotary Club of Savannah (President 2011-2012), NC State Engineering Foundation, Savannah Technical College Foundation, and was the 2013 United Way of the Coastal Empire Campaign Chair. With a passion for educating future engineers, Sam served on advisory boards at NC State University – Civil Engineering Department, Georgia Southern University College of Engineering and Information Technology, and University of Georgia – Department of Civil Engineering.
