T&H Announces Two New Promotions

T&H is pleased to announce the promotions of James Thomas, PE, and Brian Riley to Civil Group Leaders in our Charleston region!

James Thomas, PE began his career at Thomas & Hutton in 2017 and was named a Principal in 2021. A licensed South Carolina professional engineer and a civil engineering graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, James is an alumnus of Leadership Charleston and serves as an advisor to the Charleston Intern Network. With 11 years of experience in civil site design projects and municipal engineering, typical projects include commercial, residential, municipal, and transportation projects for public and private clients.

Brian Riley attended the University of South Carolina and began his career at Thomas & Hutton in 1998 as a land surveyor before transitioning into a construction administration role followed by civil designer. In 2005, he was promoted to project manager and named a Principal in 2023. Over the course of Brian’s 25-year career, he played an integral role in the success of numerous projects in South and North Carolina, notably Daniel Island, Carnes Crossroads, Brunswick County Parks, and Holden Beach Middle School. An alumnus of Leadership Charleston 2014, Brian is a current member of the Charleston Chamber and active committee participant influencing new policies related to development regulations.
