The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual meeting, attended by over 200 members from various business sectors. The event celebrated community leadership, recognized outstanding contributions, and discussed future plans. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the John Adam Treutlen Award.
The John Adam Treutlen Award, supported by T&H, is an annual recognition bestowed upon a County resident who’s demonstrated exceptional dedication and activism within the community. This year’s recipient, Speaker Jon Burns, a long-serving representative of Georgia’s 159th district and Effingham County, was honored for his unwavering dedication to public service, and tireless efforts to advance the interest of Effingham County.
Congratulations to Tamela Mydell, co-owner of Southern Kafe on 17, for her 10 years of service to the greater Effingham community, as well as to Troy Allen of Southern Oak Advisory for his outstanding service as the outgoing Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Chamber.
