Thomas & Hutton provided consultation and site selection services.  Once Firth Rixson selected Liberty County, Thomas & Hutton provided consulting, master planning, surveying, site design, permitting, and construction services.  The 25-acre project includes three buildings totalling 200,000-square foot. This project included several challenges, including a 5.2-million pound press and several underground pits up to 40 feet deep.  This facility will manufacture rings and discs for large aircraft engines. Once fully operational, the facility created around 300 local jobs (including the expansion about one year after the original facility opened). The company has utilized Georgia Quick Start and Georgia’s Work Ready programs in its hiring process.
