Community is an important component at Thomas & Hutton. Following in the footsteps of our forefathers, Hue Thomas and Joe Hutton, our people continue to carry on the values and traditions of “community” by:
Building community with people:
People at Thomas & Hutton are what drives the success of our company. We provide a fun workplace, as well as opportunities to work on exciting and fulfilling projects. The message that is universal across all offices is ONE company. It’s about teamwork. At the end of the day, we all call ourselves a family. We play an important role in the success of the company and depend upon one another to get the job done.
Advocating for our communities to ensure they thrive:
Our jobs are to enhance society through the work we do for our communities. We invest in our communities’ progress and take part actively through our involvement in professional organizations and nonprofit groups. We take on an active role in lending our voices and services, and most importantly, taking action.
Designing communities that provide a creative opportunity to transform land into something exciting and enduring.
Nothing is more rewarding than visiting a project you’ve completed- whether it’s been newly finished or if it’s a place that’s been completed for over 20 years. Creating devices, techniques, and implementation strategies that help build a better vision and a healthier community are a part of our overall culture. As Albert Einstein says, “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” The ability for everyone in our company to engage in the creation and improvement of an engineering system is what excites us. This is what we aspire to do in our work. The journey of working on a project, starting from dirt to a built environment, is fulfilling. We invest every fiber in ourselves to fulfill our clients’ vision.
Giving back to the community through service and philanthropy.
Thomas & Hutton strongly believes in giving back to the community through service and philanthropy. Many of our people sit on various boards and coordinate service projects for charitable organizations ranging from the Rape Crisis Center, March of Dimes, Humane Society, America’s Second Harvest, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Union Mission, United Way, Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, to name a few. We have representatives for different rotaries in our communities. Also, we hold fundraisers such as Jeans Day Fridays, Chili Cook-Offs, and our Office Olympics for proceeds to go toward a good cause. Recently, we implemented a new service program, T&H Helping Hands, to volunteer at nonprofit organizations.
