28 Oct Thomas & Hutton Breaks United Way Fundraising Goal
Thomas & Hutton is pleased to announce that its Savannah office has exceeded their pledge goal as a Pacesetter Firm. Thomas & Hutton employees pledged over $43,000 for the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s annual campaign.
As a Pacesetter, Thomas & Hutton is one of many local Savannah companies that committed to campaign early to raise a certain amount of funds for the yearly fundraising event. This year, Thomas & Hutton surpassed its pledge goal of $42,000 with a total employee pledge of $43,871.18. Out of 122 employees, 73 made pledges and 45 increased their donation amount from the previous year.
The United Way of the Coastal Empire mobilizes the giving power of the Savannah community to support partner nonprofits, provide direct services to those in need, and advance volunteer opportunities in the region. Given the COVID-19 Pandemic, the United Way’s work is more vital than ever and over $689,000 has been raised for its COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund. Locally, the United Way saw an increase in 93% of calls from individuals needing direct assistance with housing and utility costs. They also provided emergency funding for a variety of local agencies, as well as the cost of tablets to support distance learning for students in the Savanah-Chatham County and Effingham County school systems.
Thomas & Hutton congratulates its Savannah employees on their pledge efforts and looks forward to continue supporting the integral services that the United Way of the Coastal Empire provides for our region.
