T&H Helping Hands at Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia

Shoutout to our T&H Helping Hands Volunteers in Savannah: Brad Rife, Tom and Meg Pace, Beth Foskey, Jason Chambless, Brittany and Liam Slattery, Chris Nichols, John Garceau, and Cassie Casteel! The group of T&H employees and family members earned their “sweat hours” this weekend by packing 2,020 breakfast bags in just three hours with Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. The bags will be distributed locally to school children for Second Harvest’s mobile food pantry program.

More than 40 million people in the US struggle with food insecurity and in the 21 southeast Georgia counties that Second Harvest serves, over 175,000 people aren’t sure they will have three meals a day. In 2020, Second Harvest helped distribute over 25.5 million pounds of food, a 30% increase over the previous year. They also prepared and delivered 849,760 meals for the Kids Café Program, a 40% increase from 2019.
