11 Mar Publix Announced As Covington Town Center Anchor
Publix Supermarket will open their second Newton County location in the Covington Town Center. Serving as a retail anchor for the mixed-use development, Publix will constitute 48,387 square feet of the Town Center’s 63,000-square foot first phase. The remaining retail space will be made up of smaller restaurant and service outfits such as Huey Magoos and Panda Express. Thomas & Hutton provided master/site planning, development of landscape, signage and lighting design standards, authoring of the zoning text, and civil engineering/landscape architecture design for the initial roadways and infrastructure to support the 170-acre Town Center Site. Construction on the retail phase is expected to commence this spring with plans for completion in September of 2022.
The Covington Town Center will include retail, hotel, office, and multifamily residential units. Publix and the first phase retail is illustrated in red.
