Gregorie Ferry Towns Break Ground in Mount Pleasant

This past year brought a whole new meaning to the word ‘essential’. Ground broke earlier this month on Gregorie Ferry Towns in the Town of Mount Pleasant, SC. The workforce housing townhomes are the first of their kind in Mount Pleasant and were build exclusively for those ‘essential workers’ that keep the Town going – school teachers, healthcare workers, police, firefighters, restaurant, and retail workers.

Priced from the mid $200,000s, the townhomes include -3 bedrooms, 2 baths, designer kitchen, and one car garage. The median home price is currently up to $472,700 Mount Pleasant, pricing out many of the Town’s workers. Additionally, a recent study showed that 70 percent of workers in the Town live outside of it. Gregorie Ferry Towns are located in close proximity to several major employers and schools, reducing commute time. These townhomes provide a wealth-building opportunity for the Town’s workforce and most importantly give them a chance to call Mount Pleasant home.

Thomas & Hutton provided general consulting, conceptual master planning, stormwater management, survey, site design, permitting, and construction observation services for the Gregorie Ferry Towns site located off of Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant. The townhomes will include six buildings comprised of six townhomes, a total of 36 townhomes at completion. The first three buildings are expected to be completed this summer. We are proud to have worked with the team of Housing for All Mount Pleasant and Prosperity Builders LLC to make this a reality for the Town.
