Oaks Golf Course Transformation in Newton County

Oaks Golf Course Transformation in Newton County

A transformation is in the works for the Oaks Golf Course site in Newton County. Plans are underway for the 19-hole Oaks Golf Course to be redeveloped into a residential development with 142 single-family houses, 190 townhomes, and 360 apartments. The project is slated to feature a variety of community amenities including 143,000 square feet of retail space along with a grocery-chain anchor.

Project developer, Infinity Homes & Development has shared additional plans to bring a nine-hole golf course to the redeveloped site as well as a 9-acre entertainment complex. A nine-hole executive golf course will be maintained on the property while other elements are in development. The property sits along the Yellow River and Newton Trail System in Porterdale, providing access to kayaking, canoeing, and hiking throughout the City.

Beyond its size and natural amenities, the site is highly desirable due to its proximity to 1-20 and location on one of Newton County’s most bustling corridors. The intended future use of the property is in line with the adjacent unincorporated Newton County Almon/Crowell Road Overlay. The Overlay allows for higher density residential and mixed-use. T&H is providing due diligence, conceptual master planning, rezoning assistance, and DRI assistance to Infinity Homes.
