The Roving President: Virtual Public Works Facility Site Tours

The Roving President: Virtual Public Works Facility Site Tours

Ken Nagel, T&H Environmental Project Manager and Immediate Past President of the American Public Works Association South Carolina Chapter (APWA SC), was featured in the July issue of the APWA Reporter’s Chapter Success Stories promoting “The Roving President: Virtual Public Works Facility Site Tours”. The virtual tours keep the APWA family connected amidst travel restrictions associated with the COVID pandemic have prevented networking with peers. Ken spearheaded an initiative for virtual site tours of various facilities to provide an opportunity to showcase the features associated with the services each facility provides and allow members to experience a site tour from the comfort of their homes or office.
Three facility tours have been recorded. The videos include the City of Rock Hill’s Operations Center, the City of Greenville’s Public Works Facility, and the Horry County Solid Waste landfill and material recycling facilities. Read the APWA Reporter article here. The first official ‘Roving President’ video of the Horry County Solid Waste Authority’s 40,000-square-foot Materials Recycling Facility, aka MRF! Ken can be heard in the video below facilitating the conversation with the MRF staff. Click here to watch the full video.
