15 Oct Project Update: Rogers Bridge
Heavy lifting at our Rogers Bridge Project this week! A fleet of 42 18-wheeler trucks delivered a crane to the site in Duluth, GA where it was assembled to remove the 110-year old main truss span of the bridge over the Chattahoochee River. It will be dismantled and reused locally for public art displays. The bridge will be restored reimagined as a pedestrian pathway that will allow for the free flow of cyclists and pedestrians to and from north Fulton County, south Forsyth County, and western Gwinnett County.
Thomas & Hutton is providing project management, land surveying, transportation engineering, hydrology & hydraulics, utility coordination, and water main design for the projet. Our team was heavily involved in coordination with the Georgia Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Georgia Historic Preservation Division, and National Park Service, as well as leading an extensive public and stakeholder input process.
