11 Jan Battery Park Pedestrian Bridge Video Update
Take in the progress of the Battery Park Pedestrian Bridge from above! The video tracks a barge on Noisette Creek carrying 85-foot long steel girders to support the main bridge span. One of the bridge’s impressive 55-foot tall arches has already been installed. Elements of the second arch that will cross the bridge are also visible.
The main span girders coming in on the barge will go in first, followed by a portion of the second arch, and then more concrete bridge decking. We are one year into construction and our construction partners at Cape Romain Contractors are on schedule, an incredible feat considering the supply-chain-related materials delays. Completion is scheduled for Summer 2022.
