Greenville Regional Director, Kevin Shoemake met with The American Society of Civil Engineers Student Chapter at Clemson University this week. They discussed taking advantage of networking opportunities during summer internships, tips for those entering the workforce after graduation, and shared some “Wish I knew…” feedback from younger T&H employees on what they wished they had known before entering the workforce.
One comment was “I wish I had a better understanding of reading plans coming out of school”. Kevin took the opportunity to bring a set of T&H project plans and went through a page-turn with the students. He explained the information on each page and the importance of the elements shown within the plan set. Engaging with the upcoming generation of civil engineers is a big part of what we do at T&H. We are proud to have a small part in their journey into the “real world”. Thank you to the ASCE Clemson Chapter for having us!
