15 Jul Thomas & Hutton Newest PE: Kayla Kernich
Thomas & Hutton is pleased to announce its newest Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of South Carolina. Water Resources Designer, Kayla Kernich passed the Principles and Practices of Engineering Civil exam with the Water Resources and Environmental depth examination and has satisfied the experience requirement needed to become a PE. Kayla has been with Thomas & Hutton since 2018 and works out of the Greenville region.
Kayla Kernich joined Thomas & Hutton’s Water Resources Department in 2018. Kayla is a graduate of Clemson University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in biosystems engineering. She plans, analyzes, designs, and permits water resources-related projects in Upstate South Carolina and throughout the state, including stormwater drainage systems and water quality systems. Kayla is well versed in the application of various types of hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality models. She is a member of the Southeast Stormwater Association (SESWA) and The Water Environment Association of South Carolina (WEASC).
Kayla is currently working on several notable projects throughout the South Carolina region including the Waccamaw Neck Stormwater Master Plan (Georgetown County, SC), Eightmile Branch & Windsor Hill Watershed Restoration (City of Columbia, SC), Boone Hall Drive Flood Reduction Project (Charleston County, SC), and Rhett Street Sewer/Storm Drainage Improvements (Greenville, SC).
