T&H Project In The News: Tide To Town Urban Trail System

Tide to Town, an ambitious network of 30+ miles of bikeable and walkable trails will connect more than 60 neighborhoods and 30 schools in Savannah and Chatham County, from downtown to the marshes and waterways! Two miles of McQueens Trail, alongside the U.S. 80 causeway connected Wilmington Island to Tybee recently reopened, following extensive hurricane-related repairs.

Next up is the City of Savannah’s portion of the Truman Trail, beginning at DeRenne Avenue near Jenkins High School, up to the Police Memorial Trail at 51st St Lane near Daffin Park. The trail will have a protected separated crossing over the 52nd Street Bridge, the first of its kind in the urban trail system. Construction on this portion of the Truman Trail is expected to begin by the end of 2022 and take upwards of 18 months to complete. T&H provided design services for this portion of the trail for the City.
