26 Oct Hyundai Motor Group Community Celebration
On Tuesday, October 25th, we celebrated the groundbreaking of Hyundai Motor Group’s Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America’s (HMGMA) new manufacturing plant at the Bryan County Megasite. The two-part event featured a groundbreaking at the Bryan County Megasite, followed by a community expo and program at the Enmarket Area in Savannah. Thomas & Hutton’s own Marketing Manager/Director of Fun, Cecilia Arango, served as the official host! Cecilia shined, sharing the stage with Hyundai executives, US Senator Warnock, US Senator Ossoff, Deputy White House National Climate Advisor Zaidi, and other local and state officials. We are proud of Cecilia for helping ring the most significant economic development project in Georgia’s history.
Thomas & Hutton is working with the JDA by providing survey, civil design, transportation design, economic development assistance, graphic design, and wetland permitting for the development of the 2,923-acre Bryan County Megasite. For over three years, T&H has provided the planning, survey, design, and permitting and assisted with grant writing/funding support for the regional water and wastewater improvements to service the Megasite and the region at large.
The afternoon celebration at the Enmarket area included appearances by the likes of the Savannah Bananas and Atlanta Falcons Kicker Younghoe Koo. Visitors were invited to “look under the hood” of Hyundai’s electric fleet at a car showroom-style setup of model and prototype electric vehicles. Hyundai Motor Group also announced its commitment to the community and economy of Coastal Georgia, totaling $.154 million in social responsibility initiatives such as donations to local non-profits and scholarship funds.
