Our People

Kevin Shoemake, PE

“I have always enjoyed the satisfaction of driving by an undeveloped tract or a planned development and knowing what others aren’t aware of at the moment with regard to what will be happening to that property in the near future.  Prior to development, it’s fun to be able to visualize the plans and understand what will be taking place in transforming that property into something that will be impactful to the lives of others. Once the projects we work on become reality, there is an immense feeling of pride seeing the impact we have on our communities, and all facets of our lives, by designing neighborhoods we live in, places of employment to go to work, ballfields for our kids to play on, and schools for them to learn in.”

Kevin is a Principal and Vice President of Inland Civil/Site Development, overseeing Civil departments in Greenville and Columbia, South Carolina; Charlotte and Durham, North Carolina; Nashville and Smyrna, Tennessee; and Atlanta and Covington, Georgia. He also serves as Regional Director for the Greenville office. Prior to the opening of the Greenville office in 2015, Kevin worked in the Charleston office as its Regional Director. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University and joined Thomas & Hutton in 1997. A licensed Professional Engineer, his experience includes site development projects for healthcare, commercial, industrial, educational, and residential developments.  Kevin’s involvement with professional organizations includes American Council of Engineering Companies, Urban Land Institute, and Opportunity Greenville.
