Thomas & Hutton provided design, engineering, permitting, and construction administration for the 200-room, 5-story hotel facility. The design included parking and drive areas, underground infrastructure, environmental permitting, and building and site coordination. Unique design challenges included special design considerations for environmentally sensitive areas on, and surrounding, the project area. Challenges also included the coordination of existing infrastructure and master planning to integrate themes and ideas associated with the hotel into the existing concepts for the Jekyll Island Retail Village areas.
